Episode 3.1: Pen Pals
Fran gets a chance to meet her long-time pen pal Lenny, which prompts
Maxwell to accompany her to the Russian Tea Room to check him out;
meanwhile Niles and C.C. are left alone in the house.
Peter Marc (Jacobsen?) appears, as do Milton James and Dean Tarrollly.
Florence Griffith-Joyner has a cameo as herself,
and David Letterman is in a video clip as himself.
Episode 3.2: Nanny and the Professor
C.C.'s brother Noel (Michael McKean) bets C.C. that he can do the
impossible: get Fran on Jeopardy; meanwhile, Maxwell is upset when
it appears he hasn't been invited to the Renaissance Weekend,
a gathering of national bigwigs, including the President.

Alex Trebek and Roger Clinton have cameos as themselves. John
Glen Bishop and Sue Goodman appear as Jeopardy contestants;
Amy Lerman also appeared.
Episode 3.3: Dope Diamond
Fran is swept off her feet by (get this!) a suave sophisticated
British gent, by the name of Jules (Ian Buchanan), and when he
proposes, Sylvia is ecstatic, but Maxwell smells a rat.

guest stars as Grandma Yetta. Ian Buchanan guest stars as
Jules Kimball; also appearing were Cyndi James Gossett,
Amanda Carlin and Ron Recasner.
Episode 3.4: A Fine Family Feud
After Maggie concludes that the "Sweet Sixteen" thrown by Maxwell at
the Gungenheim Museum would be boring, Fran takes over an decides to
hold it at a nightclub owned by her Aunt Freta (Lainie Kazan).
The problem: Freta and Fran's mother haven't spoken in years.

guest stars as Fran's (fraternal) aunt Freta.
Episode 3.5: Val's Apartment
Fearing that she has "no life" and that her job at the Sheffield's
is impacting her dating, Fran moves out of the house and into an
apartment with Val, but the only question is who will give in first
to get her back to the house: Fran or Maxwell?

Episode 3.6: Shopaholic
When Val tells Fran that Danny is getting married to her arch nemesis
Heather Biblow, Fran quickly loses control of herself in a several
day shopping spree to drown her sorrows, causing the Sheffields to
worry about her.
Rachel Chagall guest stars as Fran's friend Val. Kellie Beals,
Adrienne Brett, Janine Jordae and Phillip Simon also appear.
Episode 3.7: Oy Vey, You're Gay
Maxwell hires a gorgeous publicist named Sydney (Catherine Oxenberg)
to raise his public profile, and he quickly falls for her, prompting
the jealousy of C.C. and Fran. But they needn't worry: she's a lesbian
who's more interested in Fran.
Catherine Oxenberg guest stars as Maxwell's new publicsist, Sydney Mercer.
Episode 3.8: The Party's Over
When Maxwell goes to Boston with C.C., Brighton and Gracie, he leaves
strict instructions that Maggie not be allowed to have a party.
So Fran and Val have one instead: a "singles party" where people are
charged an entrance fee, which lands Fran in trouble with the law,
and with Maxwell.
Milton Berle guest stars as Fran's lawyer, Uncle Manny. Rachel Chagall
guest stars as Fran's friend Val. Kane Picoy appears as Jeff (the cop),
Allan Rich appears as the Judge, and Merrick Daemon, Kevin Light
and Andrew Steel appear as "men at the party".
Episode 3.9: The Two Mrs. Sheffields
When Maxwell's obnoxious, critical mother Elizabeth (Dina Merrill)
comes to town, Maxwell proposes to Fran just to get his monther's
goat, but it doesn't take long before Fran is hip to the deception.

Episode 3.10: Having His Baby
When Fran sees a picture of ex-fiancee Danny's new baby, she really
starts wanting to have a baby of her own, so Maxwell's house guest,
movie star Monica Baker (Donna Dixon), seems to give Fran an answer:
artificial insemination.

guest stars as Fran's friend Val. Donna Dixon guests as "movie star"
Monica Baker. Barbara Howard appears as the fertility doctor,
and Skylar Littlefield also appears.
Episode 3.11: The Unkindest Gift
Brighton's "wacky" video of a bris thrown by Fran gets the family a
trip to Hollywood, where Fran runs afoul of the cast of "Dr. Quinn,
Medicine Woman".
Jane Seymour and Joe Lando have cameos as themselves.
Episode 3.12: The Kibbutz
Fran wants to send Maggie to a collective farm in Israel over the
holidays, that is until she remembers her own youth on a kibbutz!
Episode 3.13: An Offer She Can't Refuse
Fran suspects a guy she's dating (Burke Moses) may be involved in
some shaddy business practices.
Episode 3.14: Oy to the World
In a special animated Christmas version of "The Nanny", Fran and
Brighton get blown from New York to the North Pole where they help
Kris Kringle (who bears a striking resemblence to Maxwell) overcome
the "Abominable C.C.", an ice cloud who wants to destroy Christmas.
Episode 3.15: Fashion Show
When Fran goes to a New York society "do" with the Sheffields, she is
branded a fashion "don't" because of the purse Maxwell makes her take,
causing Maxwell to feel bad, so he makes her the fashion designer of
his set in a charity event! Could his career be over as a result?!
Fashion designer Todd Oldham has a cameo as himself. Mark Chaet and
Fran Montand also appear.
Episode 3.16: Where's Fran?
After Maxwell insults her by saying she is stupid, Fran walks out,
leaving the Sheffields to search for her. A retrospective episode.

guest stars as Grandma Yetta, and Rachel Chagall guest stars as
Fran's friend Val. Roger Clinton has a cameo as himself
(as the Sheffields' next door neighboor). Joey Dente and Brian Kirkwood

Episode 3.17: The Grandmas
Fran's having a midlife crisis of sorts: her relationship with
Mr. Sheffield is in a rut and has become predictable, Gracie doesn't
want to be seen in public with her "Nanny Fine" anymore, and her
mother and father are separating!

Episode 3.18: Val's Boyfriend
Val gets a new boyfriend named Pauly, causing Fran to go through
"best friend withdrawls"; meanwhile, C.C. quits after Maxwell refuses
to make her an equal partner.

guest stars as Val's boyfriend Pauly. James Edson also appears.
Marvin Hamlisch had a cameo as Fran's cousin.
Episode 3.19: Love is a Many Blundered Thing
Fran gets a valentine from a "secret admirer" , whom she naturally assumes
is Mr. Sheffield, so she goes *way* overboard in response. But she can't
believe who her secret admirer really is!
Rachel Chagall guest stars as Fran's friend Val. Michael Becall guest
stars as Brighton's friend Tommy, and Kane Picoy appears as Fran's date
Jeff the Cop (see episode 3.8). Bob Bancroft and Richard Tanner also appear.
Episode 3.20: Is Fran Looking Old?
When Fran discovers that her feet have grown, just in time for her
reunion of former foot models, she begins to worry that she is looking
old, prompting her to pay a visit to a plastic surgeon.

as Dr. Roberts.
Episode 3.21: Liz Taylor's Black Pearls
When Liz Taylor visits, Fran foolishly decides to deilver the black pearl
necklace that Liz is planning to wear herself, when (of course!) in the
cab to deliver the necklace, Fran hits her head and suffers amnesia,
losing the pearls in the process.
NOTE: This episode was part of a larger CBS/Liz Taylor promotion
that took place over all 4 of CBS's Monday night comedies.

Episode 3.22: The Hockey Show
Fran starts dating a hockey player, NY Ranger Mike LaVoe,
who figures she a "good luck charm", until she goes to a game,
the Rangers lose, and the entire town of NY accuses Fran of being a "jinx".

Episode 3.23: That's Midlife
When Maxwell's latest play bombs, he begins to question his
whole life's work and purpose, causing Fran to worry enough
to try and trick him into therapy.

Episode 3.24: The Cantor Show
Fran gets a date with the handsome new singing Cantor at
her Temple and brings him to Maxwell's, where the Cantor
is tapped for Maxwell's new Broadway show by Burt Bacharach,
prompting the Cantor to leave the Temple for a career on Broadway.
The question: will God punish Fran in return?

Maxwell insists that Brighton get a tutor after he fails French,
but Maxwell immediately regrets his decision when the smooth Frenchman
romances and proposes to Fran, but the question is: does the tutor
want Fran, or a visa?

Episode 3.26: Ship of Fran's
Fran plans to spend some much needed vacation time with Val on a
Caribbean cruise (cruising for guys, of course), but when Maxwell
frets over the idea that Fran might actually find someone and leave
the Sheffield family (and him!), he decides to go on the same cruise too,
along with the other Sheffields, Niles, C.C., oh, and Sylvia, Mortie
and Yetta!

Episode 3.27: Pup in Paris
Before Maxwell heads off to Paris to check up on his brother
and his new nightclub there, his bag gets mixxed up with
Fran's bag containing C.C.'s dog, so she heads to the plane
to retrieve the bag. Once on the plane though, Fran gets
stuck there and accompanies Maxwell to Paris.
But on the way back from Paris, as their flight appears to be crashing,
Maxwell makes a startling admission. (A cliffhanger.)
