The whimsical accents of this delightful comedy find an echo in Michael Kamen's exhilarating score, which, most appropriately, opens here with an exuberant conga that sets the tone for the rest of the album. To illustrate this story of a 10-year-old boy who evidences the mental and emotional reactions of his age, even though, through a quirk of nature, he actually looks 40, Kamen devised cues that amusingly stress the child-like qualities of the main character, played by Robin Williams, in terms that constantly challenge the listener.

Cadillac Man

Williams is terrific, as usual, playing an aggressive car salesman who may lose his job, his mistress, his other girlfriend, his Mafioso protector, and his daughter all during one eventful weekend. He has to sell 12 cars in 12 days (to keep his job.) He's so desperate that he even tries to pitch a sale to a widow at a funeral. As if he didn't have enough problems, the crazed husband (Tim Robbins) of one of his coworkers bursts into the car show room with an automatic weapon and takes everyone hostage.
